KATIE BRIGGS

Katie Briggs is a sixth-generation Golden, Colorado native whose oil paintings draw from growing up in Coors country and watching the West evolve over time. Katie now lives on the Western Slope with her husband and newborn son. She paints the everyday cowboy, someone living a life that could just as easily belong to another century. While honoring the grandeur of the landscape and the grit of her characters, Briggs introduces subtle traces of the present, adding moments of humor and mischief that keep each piece from settling too comfortably in the past.
